1 scoop of protein powder (I used Plant Warrior Plant Based Protein)
1 tbsp jam (I used Follain Strawberry Jam)
1 tbsp creamy peanut butter
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Rule 1: ALWAYS soak you oats
I tend to place my oats in the pot and por cold water on top at least 20-30 minutes before I plan on eating them. If you don't have the luxury of time in the mornings, simply leave them to soak over night.
Rule 2: Add more water than you think you need
After soaking, add more water and mix the oats before cooking.
Rule 3: Cook on the hob - no microwaves allowed!
Rule 4: Add even more water as the oats are cooking
This really is the key to that creamy consistency. Oats will continue to cook even when you remove the heat so keep adding cold water and stir constantly.
Rule 5: Boil the kettle
This is key when adding protein powder to your oats. The protein will soak up any excess water so be sure to have more hot water to hand to add and stir along with the powder.
Rule 6: Don't skimp on the toppings
What is a bowl of oats without some toppings? Jam and peanut butter are my go to but play around with your own combinations to jazz up your oats.
